• can thread a machine
• knows the proper way to wind and load a bobbin
• has worked with a commercial pattern before
• knows how to put fabric on-grain
• knows how to align pattern pieces on the grain

• have completed several projects successfully on your own
• are continually looking for new challenges
• are learning from your mistakes
• want to sew instead of sleep
