    Recycled Juice Bag Tote

Make it TSS-style: Try adding trim or funky lace at the top edge for some spunk.

Tip: Line the bag with a different type of recycled bag to make the tote reversible and stronger.

    sewing tip

A few things to file in that crafty brain of yours to build your sewing knowledge:

    • 1 yard of fabric is equal to 0.9144 meters.
    • Maternity patterns are generally calculated for a woman 5 months pregnant.
    • Choose a blouse/dress pattern based on bust measurements and choose pant patterns based on hip size.
    • Lamé is any woven or knitted fabric with a metallic yarn, which creates a glittery effect.

    Stay Tuned

  • You spoke, we listened. Introductory Sewing will have an extra week added on as of July and the class will now teach a regular zipper. (June session: $215 for 7 weeks. Mid-July session: $245 for 8 weeks.)
  • July’s Feature Workshop is super-cool: you’ll learn to make a swimsuit! (Sign up fast, this baby’s in Toronto only.) Oh summah-time!

      Upcoming Classes

Aside from June being the month that celebrates Donald Duck’s birthday and the beginning of the summer solstice, June 2008 should be the month that marks when you a) lost your sewing virginity, b) began pinning properly or c) sewed a drawstring bag that fits perfectly in your bike’s chic basket. The scintillating Man Class returns to our Toronto schedule, and Pickering welcomes its first session of Kids After School program. For those of you who just moved or are looking to spruce up your house on a dime, sign up for June’s Feature Workshop: Home Decor!
