Bleach object dyeing
(1) Choose a fabric or a garment made out of natural fibers—cotton, linen or rayon—that you want to create a pattern on. (Black bleaches best.)
(2) Fill a spray bottle with 1-part household bleach and 2-parts water.
(3) Lay objects (try leaves, old keys, buttons) on the fabric.
(4) Spray the bleach on top of and around the objects and leave the bleach on for 2-10 minutes.
(5) Submerse your garment in bucket of clean water to end the bleaching process.
(6) Wash your garment in the regular manner and you’re done! |

Having trouble sewing perfect darts? Here’s a trick: Right before you start sewing your dart, pull your bobbin thread so that it’s longer than the dart that you’ll be sewing. Place this connected thread on the top of your garment from dart opening to the end of the dart legs, and use it as a guide to sew a perfectly straight and angled dart.

Keep checking our website www.lovesewing.com for last minute class updates on the schedule. Anticipate new Feature Workshops as well as Feature Courses that may only run infrequently. Special classes will definitely be running over the Christmas break as well as regular classes running at different times! Feel free to let us know if there’s anything specific you want to learn, we love suggestions!
Something else to look forward to… WE’RE OPENING A SECOND LOCATION! In P-town (a.k.a. Pickering, Ontario, just east of Toronto). A smaller version of our flagship location on Avenue Road, The Sewing Studio in Pickering is expected to open in the spring. Relief to commuters! (Tell your friends.)
